There are many major risk factors including High Blood Pressure, High Blood Cholesterol, Diabetes, Obesity, Smoking and Physical Inactivity.
Another Contributing factor is Stress.
Some of these factors we can actually do something about through Good Nutrition and Regular Exercise. Good Nutrition and Regular Exercise can make an enormous difference to your health, without going OTT. Do some exercise at home, join the Gym, do whatever it takes to get yourself off the couch. Do something that's fun too and will keep you going back.
And...Did you know that one of the major causes of Stress is due to a lack of Finances? We can actually do something about that too. How about creating a second stream of income.
